About the Captain

Welcome to Captain Action Charters, home of Muskoka, Algonquin Park & Lake of Bays' fishing headquarters.

Born in the Muskoka area, Captain Mike Bertelsen started his career as a fishing guide in 1988. Today Mike runs one of Ontario's top rated guide services.

As a full time guide, Mike spends 200 plus days a year on the water. This allows him to closely track the fish and bait as the water temperatures and light intensities change, guaranteeing his clients the best success possible.

Mike has made many television appearances over the years giving tips on everything from boat handling to choosing the right colour of lure. He also presents many seminars throughout the season at different Bass Pro Shop events. Major fishing shows are also attended, where he gives tips to the public.

Captain Mike and his family spend their winter holidays in Everglades National Park (1 hour south of Naples) fishing for Sharks, Snook, Redfish, Trout, and Tarpon. They also fish Pine Island (30 minutes outside Fort Myers).

Prices vary depending on the number of anglers and the length of trip. We offer 4 hour and 8 hour trips. All tackle is included. If your party is larger than 3 or 4 anglers we can make arrangements for larger groups.
